who allow visitors to enjoy their labours of love.

Tertia Abrahamson

92 South Highway, Simpson's Beach — 866-4971

You are welcome to view this seaside garden. Most use is made of the sheltered western side — then head through the enclosed living area. See the maiden hair fern conservatory before moving on to the seaside garden with ponds and large, historic Pohutukawa trees.

The Peachey's — Yvonne & Dale

Visitors welcome, by appointment only, please phone first — $2 pp entry
Our garden, which has a large selection of plants, roses, shrubs & small trees, spreads over several levels. We are lucky enough to have a fantastic view over Buffalo Beach and Mercury Bay. Our property also nestles up to a lovely native reserve. We are new gardeners but enjoy having the opportunity to meet other gardeners.

Beth Cumings

114 Cook Drive, Whitianga — 866-5322
Open by appointment only, mainly from beginning of September to beginning of December. Cover charge $3 adults, children (who would usually rather be somewhere else anyway) free. Reduction for groups
Survival of the fittest in this suburban garden with an acre's worth of plantings crammed into a ¼ acre-plus-a-bit section.

End of Moewai Rd (next to airfield), Whitianga — 866-5167
Visitors are welcome by appointment — entry by donation
Emphasis on rhododendrons and camellias with spring bulbs and perennials in this peaceful country garden with mature trees and shrubs. Roses and dahlias feature in summer. It has a natural stream where pongas and ferns grow around a swimming hole. A quiet, interesting summer garden.

Corner SH25 & Golf Road, Whitianga — 866-2253
Visitors welcome — NO entry fee
This is a three quarter acre section surrounded by large camellia bushes. Enjoy the tranquillity of mature trees, rose gardens and much more. While away your day in this secluded garden and enjoy a Devonshire tea in our Garden Cafe. Open 10AM to 3PM daily.
